No More Excuses

I friend of mine showed me a video from Youtube the other day, of a woman who had lost her arm, and a man who had lost his leg, competing in a dance competition. It was their dream to overcome their disabilities and do something they loved doing. As I watched, I realized that we make so many excuses day by day on why we cant do things. Whereas this man and woman have to struggle with things that we find so easy and natural to us. The things that we make excuses for are such LITTLE things! This man and woman have had a huge hardship, and haven't made excuses on why they cant be dancers just like people with both their arms and legs. To watch this couple glide across that floor effortlessly, made me want to change and become more like them. It made me want to stop making excuses for small things that I can overcome with ease.

Check out their video on Youtube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK29iPaQDbg

Invisible Children

Today I had a presentation brought to me from the people of Invisible Children; a charitable organization that is trying to help end the longest running war in Northern Uganda. Their goal is to stop the war, and help keep these kids from being kidnapped by the LRA leader Joseph Kony. These children live in fear everyday that they may be captured and even worse...killed. These children have gone through so much more than we can ever imagine and they need our help more than ever. I cant imagine what it must feel like to have soldiers come into my home and kill my family and either leave me for dead or kidnap me. I am asking you to find it in your heart to help these kids. You can buy bracelets made from real Ugandan children that comes with a DVD about them; you can buy t-shirts made from cotton grown right there in Uganda. Or you can help pay for a childs tuition for university. Every penny counts. You can make an impact on these children's lives just by spreading the word about this organization! Tell your friends, family, neighbors, co-wokers or whoever! Just get the word out and make a difference.

For more information on how you can be involved with Invisible Children, go to http://www.invisiblechildren.com/.

Remember, in order for this world to become a better place, we must help each other out in our time of need.

Peace and Love,

Jordan

The Little Things

Hey everybody! Post #2! I hope everybody had a GREAT Easter! I know I did. Who doesnt like long weekends? This past week has had me thinking...we take life for granted. We get so used to having all the luxuries in life that we forget what life is all about. The little things. Its not about the car we drive, the type of phone we carry, or how big our house is. Its about being with the ones we love and being content with what we have. Making new friends and trying new things. The stupid things that make us laugh, the songs we sing on those long road trips, taking a walk through your neighborhood with your friends or family; those are the things that make life great. We need to learn to look past the "stuff" and learn to look at all the little things that we have that make us happy and stop taking them for granted. Remember that there are people in the world that have it much worse than we do and still manage to have a smile on their faces and be grateful for what they DO have.

Look past the stuff and focus on The Little Things,

God is Great,

Jordan
